"Bienlein", on your DirectorZone page you wrote that photos and videos are your passion. When did you realize this?
As a child I had an interest in art and photography. I got my first camera when I was 15 and later began digital photo editing. This was followed closely by video editing. I am totally addicted to taking photos and creating photo slideshow discs and I eventually become a professional photographer.
Do you have a personal preference - videos or photos?
Photos are my focus. I started my own photo and photo slideshow business some time ago. PowerDirector provides me with the tools I need to create original templates that I can use for my customers. Most of the time I take wedding photos, bundled with slideshow discs. Because so many people love my work, I create new templates all the time.
Now I'd like to ask you one of the questions that many readers are keen to know: What inspires you?
It might sound strange, but I get the best ideas in my sleep. I always dream of the things I could take pictures of during daytime. When I then see those things, like a door or a window - I immediately get the urge to work with it.
What is the process then? Do you go on "window tours", taking photos of every window you see, or do you slowly gather and collect images until there's a "theme"?
Usually it goes hand in hand, meaning that when I'm working on windows, I see all windows around me. Of course I've been collecting images since I was 15. I've only uploaded some of my templates - as they already need several hard discs to store. And there are new ones on a daily basis. The ones I'm using for my work would probably not be appropriate to upload.
What kind of templates would you like to see from other DirectorZone users?
I'd like to see more templates concerning "daily life". There are a lot of similar templates. I'd like to see more variety. In theory, we could all pay more attention to nature. I also like templates that you can be used for collages.
Do you have any tips or advice for our readers? What mistakes are easy to prevent? How can one make videos more interesting?
I've got one tip. More shadow and gradient effects on templates help a lot. For videos, background music is very important. For my photo slideshows, I always try to have smooth transitions and not too many effects. I think moderation is the best approach to most things.
