I think I got it figured out.

MANY of the effects are uploaded with just a name and no suffix (such as xyz.dzt).
To incorporate the effects, they have to have a Director Zone suffix.
I THINK the suffixes are .dzt for title, .dzf for frame, etc.

I have uploaded 4 effects, but the only ones that show up as uploaded are
those with the correct suffix attached.

That being the case, I suspect most uploaded effects won't get incorporated
unless you add the suffix.

1. Find the file where the downloaded effects are stored. (No easy task!)
2. Add the appropriate suffix.
3. Open PD and click on the effect again. This will allow it to be imported.

Hope that helps

Has this topic been resolved?

I download the file to my computer and then rename it DZT or DZM. (why it's not downloaded in that format is beyond me). I open the download and the screen says that the file has been opened in PD7. Of the 5 I downloaded only 1 has opened. I have checked each aspect and only 1 download is shown. I have opened the other 4 many times but none are transfered to PD7

I have downloaded the 3017 patch.

It is most frustrating that, what should be,such a simple operation can be so complicated.

Why are my downloads not opening in PD7?

Further to my last message.

I thought the problem was one of aspect because all the templates not loaded to PD7 were 16.9. However I knocked that theory on the head when I downloaded a 16.9 and it showed up in PD7.

I now come to conclusion that some work and some don't. Go onto another if the one does not work.

I am having all sorts of issues with not only Directorzone, but also Cyberlink as well. For two days in failed attempts to purchase on-line PowerDirector 8, I ask tech support if the supplemtal DVD menu packs would work with the new PD8. No one would even answer me. Finally on day three, I was told to delete all my cookies from my browser and I should be able to purchase and register my Trial program. I was told my email address was wrong... it was the same address I used for the trial download. So, back to story, I downloaded the creative menu pack, and the vacation menu pack. on their site both say for PD7 but not PD8.
So I installed the creative pack fine. The Vacation pack says it only works with ver 5 and above. What the Hell is version 8 if not above. I tell tech about it, and ask for a refund for the one pack. I also tell him I asked two days prior to purchase if they would work, but he never answered me. Now I'm not getting any answers at all. Yet, one works with 8, one doesn't.

Then as for the director zone stuff, .. In glee at the free content, I've downloaded bunches, .. but like so many others out there.. they are no where to be found. I never did read an answer to to inquiry about some patch????? Is there a patch or not? Where iis it, if there really is one? Don't guess I expect sympathy here, but I am thinking tech support for this product, which I bought with some apprehension, cause I was using Microsoft Movie Maker just fine prior... is just about as poor as Microsofts mp3 ZUNE support. All ya get is a forum: kind of like paintin' graffitti on a wall: You can put it there, but no-body will see it who can help????

This is the problem I had. I overcame it as follows:

a. if the file is already downloaded onto your desktop - right click and rename to dzt (titles) or dzm (menus). Once that is done you can double click and it will import to PD

b. Before you download you actually download a file a screen should come up asking where you want to save it. At that point change the file name to xxxx.dzt or dzm. (xxx being the name of the power director title or menu).

Hope this helps.

I have a similar problem:

The DVD Menus import just fine (pzm files). The messagebox said so. When I restarted PowerProducer, they were nowhere
to be found . I looked in the CyberLink directories under "Documents And Settings" and saw the folders and data that
were imported. It seems that no matter what I do (changing aspect ratios, etc...), I can't make PowerProducer see those imported menus.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

Carlos wrote:Hi.

The PiP objects that you can download have an aspect ratio. Be sure that your project uses the same aspect ratio and you will be able to use the objects for your project.

Thank you so much for the tip! I was getting aggravated because I thought they disappeared into no-mans land.

Can we change the aspect ratio and save it?

Carlos is right. Aspect ratio must be changed to suit.

I have a different question...when I download "motion objects" such as the burning, lightening, worlds end etc, I assummed there would be motion to it. It is just a picture. Where is the motion...am I doing something wrong?

After double cliking the dzm files may i know which folder exactly o they go and settle in to be aviable to both PD and PP?

I am using PD8 and often get just a black patch where the menu should be.

So i have decided to rename the extension of my downloaded menus to zip and unzip them with a standard unzip program (winrar does o this) and then place the unzipped folders and their contents in the correct location for PD and PP to access them.

In other words I'd like toknow where are the folders that should hold the downloaded and executed dzm files under PD and PP respectively?

i have a different question that may be irrelevant.
but one of the frames i've downloaded didnt work.
so i tried again and it still didnt work.
i've downloaded other ones but they worked perfectly.
but this particular frame will import but the frame does not show up.
i tried a few times again and it keeps saying successfully imported but shows a blank frame.
how do i remove it from the list of frames i have on my cyberlink?

Hi there, I have problem, but it's not with my software. The thing is when I download the file, it is downloaded in .ZIP format. So when I open it, I only see like 4 or 5 files and none of those is .dzt extension. So if anyone have this problem too or knows what is wrong PLEASE help me. I'll appreciate it.
