I can't praise the Michelin Pilot Road 3 tyres enough, the confidence they inspire in the wet is asstounding. Having started biking on the road in late '70s I'm a cautious rider when it comes to riding in the rain and it's difficult to recalibrate my expectations of the capabilities of modern motorcycle tyres. However, the PR3s are still a significant leap forward in this respect. Thoughout this ride I was supremely confident in the available grip and aside from forward observation for road debris, manhole covers and road paint had to take no major consideration for the conditions. I probablky could have 'pressed on' even more in places had I wanted to and not felt uncomfortable. Harking back to my formative motrorcycling experience clothing has come a long way as well.
