A side-by-side of my Canon HFM40 and my old HF20. I also tested my Olympus EPL-1, but it was simply too dark out and I did not adjust for it, but it is not a video camera and was not designed for this test. As you can easily see, the HFM40 slays the HF20 in lo-light.
