Upon its release in 1971, Universal Pictured tried to market Peter Fonda's sensitive meditation of frontier relationships with an action oriented trailer that advertised "Peter Fonda Rides Again!" This mis-step disappointed the popcorn crowd who hoping to see Fonda as the next Western action anti-hero and alienated its intended audience. Over the years it has gained a substancial cult following and is finally being rediscovered and in 2003 Sundance Channel Home Entertainment released a beautifully restored, Double Disc Collector's Edition. While the original trailer can be seen here on Youtube, I wanted to do my part in brining this movie to the people who would have appreciated it most. Peter Fonda's directorial debut touched me deeply and this is my way of saying "Thank you, Mr. Fonda."
