On Monday, 12/29/14 around 9:45 PM, a young woman was killed when her vehicle left the southbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway, became airborne, and overturned onto Newhall Avenue and then continued up another embankment. The 25-year-old victim, who was from Lancaster, was trapped in the vehicle, a 2003 Chevrolet sedan and died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved, and neither drugs nor alcohol were thought to be factors in the crash but the cause was still under investigation.
