The Shelf Road Trail offers an easy hike with enough elevation gain to offer a gentle workout. One side of the trail offers fabulous views of the Ojai Valley, while unspoiled wilderness dominates that other. A short side-trip to Wilson Point offers a unique unobstructed view. Although likely the most popular trail in Ojai, there is no sense that it is overcrowded. In fact, friendly smiles and greetings are the norm as most of the walkers are Ojai locals and this hike offers a great sense of the flavor of Ojai.
