When guests at teh Ojai Valley Inn and Spa request a guided hike, the Hiking Guides have a number of options. The Shelf-Luci-Pratt Trail Loop is an excellent choice for a guest that wants a moderate hike with good views. Shelf Road provides a quick warm-up to the Luci Trail, which climbs quickly with a series of switchbacks. Majestic views of the Ojai Valley encourage the guests to stop for a quick look and to cache one's breath. After the steep climb, the gentle descent is welcoming. Equally welcoming is the mixed-shade on the second half of the trail. A highlight of the route is "Shawny's Garden". Although not as impressive as when Shawny was alive, the garden is making a comeback and is certainly a unique place to visit.
