FMS PT-17 Unboxing Video

This PT-17 has a lot of history behind it. Although it never saw any action in WW-2, it served a a valuable trainer to all the pilots that fought in the war. It was originally called Model 75, wich was made as a civilian aircraft in 1930 by the Stearman Aviation Company.It was not until 1934 that it made it's way into the military. That is when Boeing bought Stearman and originally called this plane the PT-13 It eventually was renamed the PT-17, for which it became famous. Over 10,000 were built by the end of the war in 1944. Most wer sold into the civilian market, where they were used for various task. Most went into crop dusting and quit a few went into the fly circuses, a few thousand stayed in the military, mostly in the Army Air Core. Watch for the assembly video to follow soon.
