How many of you know good old Brodway Bob of the Union Grove Drag Strip? He was great. I remember when I went into his booth on a off day, wile testing a car, and I stuck out my hand and said my name is Jim Sween, and there is one thing that I would like to do, and he said what is that. And I said your not to buzy, how bought I buy you and I a beer and sit down and share some stories. And he said what kind of beer do you like? I got all the beer you want back here, you don't want to b uy beer out there, why do that? And I said because I want to do something for my good old friend here. But he insisted he go in the back and bring out a couple of Millers. So after that I bet we talked for about 3 hours, and I really learned so much about all theb old times, and things that went on at the track, and how expensive it was to bring in the big names. That is one of the reasons he had to sell it I guess. But to me Brodway was a great man to me. I also remembered a time he came into Milwaukee Rummage-O-Rama and asked if I new about Great Lakes Drag Way, and at that time I was only 25 years old, I had no idea. But I'l never forget his pants that he ware, they always looked like bright pajama bottoms, he always stood out, you could not miss him. But I sure miss him now. God bless you Bob.
