米大リーグのロイヤルズとマイナー契約を結んだ結城海斗投手（１６）が８日、大阪・南河内郡河南町で会見した。中学卒業から直接ＭＬＢ契約という日本人初のケースとなった結城は「甲子園を目指していたけど、シニア選抜で米国で野球をして、甲子園よりアメリカで野球をしたいという思いが強くなった」と初心表明した。「メジャーリーグに行って活躍したい」と目標を掲げた。
