My low stitch count Brother NQ1700E embroidery only machine all of a sudden stopped auto threading the needle. It took me awhile of trouble shooting until I can to the conclusion that the auto threaders hook was bent to the left, missing the needles eye. Also read page 22 of the manual concerning the auto threader and the needle not being all the way up, this in itself could cause damage to the auto threaders hook, mine was bent, and this could be the reason it bent.
