Its origins are currently in question. It has been attributed to various composers such as Antonio Rubira, Francisco Tarrega, Fernando Sor, Miguel Llobet, Narciso Yepes and others. In my native country, France, Romance became very famous thanks to a 1952 film by René Clément "Jeux Interdits" (Forbidden Games) which received several international awards. René Clément asked the Spanish guitarist Narciso Yepes to perform solo the music of his film.
