Confusion over Monroe's Admission Tax Ordinance

Froggie Blues and Coyote Ridge Saloon have collected $736.00 in admissions taxes since the law went into effect. But Traders World and Treasure Aisles have not begun collecting the fee. Ordinance No. 2010-27. An Ordinance supplementing the Business Regulation and Taxation Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Monroe to establish an Admission Charge. Council approved the first reading of Ordinance No. 2010-27 on November 23, 2010 and passed the ordinance on January 11. But there appears to be some confusion over who should collect admission tax.
