Former Hawkeye visits Cedar Falls

Creator's Description

BY ERIC VANSICKLE -- During the Mississippi Valley Conference girls' basketball game between Linn-Mar and Cedar Falls, a former Hawkeye men's basketball star visited the C.F. High gymnasium to observe his daughter. Greg Stokes was a center/forward for the University of Iowa from 1981 to 1985, playing under legendary coach Lute Olson. Currently employed at Kirkwood Community College and assists the school's basketball team, Stokes imparted his wisdom on his children, including daughter Kiah, a 6-foot-3 center for the Lions and recruit to the University of Connecticut to play for the perennial national power Huskies under Gino Auriemma. The elder stokes reflects on his daughter, his time at Iowa and about the Hawkeye program.
