This is my 8' long boa constrictor named Scarlet. She eats the biggest rats I can get from www.rodentpro.com. I thaw them out for 2 hours in room temperature water. Next, I put them in warm water for 10 minutes. Scarlet has never tried to bite me. Snakes make great pets. I wouldn't recommend a boa for your 1st snake.
