2012-10-22 #304 Where SD 40s Rule

Creator's Description

We're at about Mile 119 of Canadian Pacific Railways' Cascade Subdivision. Cariboo Road North winds down and across the tracks into the private yard on General Chemical's Barnet Plant. This trackage is west of the major yards at Port Coquitlam and the Vancouver Intermodal Facility in Pitt Meadows, and east of the yards for the Port of Vancouver. This is the land of the Road Switcher, where SD40-2's continue to show their muscle. Westbound SD40-2 CP6046 leads CP5792 with a long string of grain loads. Eastbound CP5796 with CP5716 slowly drags east from Dunlevy with a huge container train bound for VIF in pitt meadows. Then CP3012, a GP38AC leads SD40-2 CP5824 westbound with a tank train.
